MRS. SCHROEDER’S CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN
GEOGRAPHY OF THE EASTERN HEMISPHERE 2023-2024
I. Attendance
A. Attendance is taken using a seating chart.
B. You are to sit in your assigned seat each day.
C. You will either be recorded as present, absent, or tardy.
II. Tardy to class
-
School policy will be followed. You will be given lunchtime detention after your third tardy to class.

You will be counted tardy if you are not in the room when the bell rings.
-
You are to fill out a tardy form if you are tardy to class.
D. A tardy is excused if you have a note from a teacher or from the office.
III. Discipline
A. SEVEN FOR SEVEN (EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL 7TH GRADERS)

Work hard and be kind!
-
Listen and be attentive; do not distract others from learning in any way.

Be in your seat when the bell rings unless the teacher has specified otherwise.
-
Come to class prepared with the necessary materials.
-
Hall passes are required to leave class.
-
Do your own work and complete it on time.
-
The teacher, not the bell, dismisses the class.
**Water only with sealable lids in classroom
**We strictly enforce the “Away For The Day” policy!
B. TECHNOLOGY EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL 7TH GRADERS

Be sure your CHROMEBOOK is fully charged at the beginning of the day.

CHROMEBOOKS are to be used during class with teacher permission.
-
Only use the apps teachers tell you to use.
-
Make sure you do not touch anyone else’s CHROMEBOOK.
-
Remember your CHROMEBOOK is a learning tool.
-
Keep headphones stored away until you have permission to use them.
SCHOOL RULES APPLY AT ALL TIMES
C. Consequences will be as followed if you choose to break one of the above rules
including any school rules: lunchtime detention, note sent home, and or
a phone call to parents
*SEVERE DISRUPTIONS: Students will receive a TTD (teacher temporary dismissal).
This is a removal from class and placed in the SAL room
(suspension alternative lab)
D. Possible rewards for following classroom rules
1. Praise (daily)
2. Positive notes and calls home (random)
3. Rewards as I see fit (various times throughout the year)
4. At the end of each nine-week period there will be a lunch party for the two top students
from each class.
IV. Academic Areas
A. Test/Quiz Policy
1. Tests/quizzes will cover the material given to you in class.
2. Each student is responsible for taking all tests/quizzes, and making up any missed
from an absence.
3. All tests/quizzes will be announced in advance and a study guide will be given.
4. Any student who does not score 70% (C-) or higher on any given test/quiz will have to
correct their test/quiz. A parent/guardian will have to sign the corrected test/quiz
which then can be returned to me for possible partial credit.
B. Homework/assignment policy
1. Homework/assignments will always be posted on the side assignment board
and on the teacher website (see parent letter).
2. There will NOT be a lot of “traditional” homework (such as worksheets).
3. All assignments are expected to be completed and turned in on time.
4. You are to complete an incomplete assignment sheet, and turn it in if you do not
have the assignment to turn in on time.
5. Students are expected to complete all assignments on time. Late work will not receive
full credit.
6. You will receive a lunch time detention and a phone call home if you are caught
copying answers from someone’s work . The person who gave their answers may also
receive a phone call home to their parents/guardian as well.
C. Make-up
1. Test/Quiz make-ups are described under the test/quiz section.
2. Any missed work will be placed in a color-coded folder (by class period) with your name
on top.
3. It is your responsibility to get the correct assignment for the day(s) you
missed, complete the assignment(s), and turn the work in.
4. Please ask if you have any questions about missed work.
5. VERY IMPORTANT!! It is your responsibility to check Google Classroom for any
posted assignments on days you are not at school.
D. Grading Policy
1.The grading scale for class is the following:
90%-100% =A
80%-89% =B
70%-79% =C
60%-69% =D
below 60% =F
pluses and minuses will be given according to the electronic grade system
1. Grades are based on points.
2. Everyone will keep a grade sheet in their binder.
3. A grade sheet will be given at the beginning of each nine-week period. You are
expected to record and keep track of your own grade and check it in POWERSCHOOL
E. Classroom procedures
Procedures may change as the year progresses in order to maintain a safe and
productive learning environment.
1. Beginning of class as you enter the room
a. Make sure you have all necessary material for class…pen/pencil, planner,
3-ring binder, and your charged CHROMEBOOK.
b. Sharpen your pencil.
c. Look to the assignment board for the day’s assignments. Write any homework
assignment in your planner.
d. Look to see what the bell ringer is for the day and be working on the bell ringer.
2. Dismissal of class
a. The bell doesn't dismiss the class.
b. The teacher dismisses the class
3. Passes to leave class
a. You are to leave class only when absolutely necessary.
b. You must sign out before leaving the class and sign in once you enter back into the
classroom from being out on a pass.
c. Take either the “green office pass” or “orange RR/hall” pass with you when you leave the classroom.
4. Headings on papers
a. Every paper turned in will need to have the following heading:
1.NAME (FIRST AND LAST)
2.CLASS PERIOD
3.DATE
*One point will be deducted if you do not have a heading on your paper.
5. Binder
-
All important papers will be kept in your binder.
-
You will need 5 tabs for your binder.
-
Do not throw away any papers unless told to do so.
F. Miscellaneous
1. Chances for extra credit are offered at different times throughout the year. Extra
credit is NOT offered to single individuals, but to classes as a whole.
****There will be a lunch celebration for the top two students****
from each class (for a total of 12 students) at the end of each
grading period.
The twelve students will become the class “star students”.
To become a star student the following requirements must be met:

highest overall % from their class
-
no major behavior infractions
-
all assignments completed and turned in on time
-
Each star student will be invited to have lunch in my classroom at the end of each nine-week grading period where "treats" will be provided.
